Ok so I'll start with a few items I've picked up over the years, Long story short I studied Criminology at uni and did my dissertation on armed police I made a few contacts and thanks to them have amassed a decent collection of coins and patches from various firearms units

Items Marked in Red are my own, items without red are ones that need to be added to my collection

Issued by Transport for London after being given permission from the Queen and the government. First time in the history of public transport that a medal has been granted. Be very difficult to ever get permission again. Only issued to staff who were on duty that day and are mentioned in reports that they helped in the rescues. Each medal has the persons name etched on the reverse side and the place they were at. My name was shortened so they could get it all on. The front is the leaf of peace. Comes with a presentation box with the Transport for London Roundel on it in silver.

All the cleaners at the various stations came to help and were brilliant. Unfortunately, they had been privatized and so got nothing. Except our grateful thanks to them. We then threatened strike action unless the private companies acknowledged them. They then recieved a monetary award.

Re: Collectibles and eBay finds

Feel I should tell about the fire brigade. When I came out, there was a bunch of them on the island platform 3/4. I could hear raised voices, so looked at them. Their boss had recieved orders from top brass not to let them go and help. That hadnt gone down well and they were threatening to ignore orders and go and help. In the end, despite being ordered not to, they handed over their equipment to train drivers.

Then there were the ambulances sent up from Surrey. A whole fleet of them driving up the Edgware road on their way to Kings cross. Stopped by a single police officer outside Marks & Spencer and told to help us. Driver called his ops room to be told there was nothing for Edgware road? So this fleet parked up at the Hilton hotel where the injured were being taken and looked after them.

At the inquest, a top brass policeman tried saying they couldnt send their police down as a police dog had indicated there were more explosives. As I hadnt seen a dog, I asked the question when the dog went down. They sent it down the following day!

It was the top brass that caused a lot of confusion that day. Not the soldiers on the ground.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Although I feel I was only doing my job. My passengers, my responsibilty. I dont think soldiers ever see the injuries that I saw. My injured got doubled whammy. First from the blast, then when the blast had nowhere to go, an implosion as it came back at them. One of the Doctors was sick when he saw my first injured passenger. A whole the size of a tennis ball through his thigh.

Anyone looking for a new shed?

One of these would look banging next to my poly tunnel, little table inside for plant pots, a couple of shelves for tools etc.

http://navalsurplus.co.uk/gun-shield-assembly

Apparently they're looking for about 500 quid plus delivery. At 2 tons a pop, this won't be cheap.

In all seriousness though, I've got the space, if he has the one off either HMSs York, Newcastle, Southampton or Nottingham, I might have to jump in and make an offer...

I was once talking to an AFO on a forum who'd allegdly suggested they rename his TFU to Firearms Response & Highrisk Entry Team - abbreviated to FRHET

Yeah, I knew how much they were going for, but only available in the US. What does the new 19 coin look like? Is it the enamel blued subdued Union flag one?
